How do I connect to ssh without java? Is there some program to do that?

If you use MS Windows I would suggest getting Putty from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html as this client is completely free and so far it is a most popular ssh client for MS Windows. When you run Putty it will ask you for the hostname or IP address of the remote server, type your VPS IP address, then change port from 22 to one, listed in your welcome email and click "Open". You will be asked for login name, type "root" and then your root password to get into your VPS as root.

Be sure to check out our Knowledgebase Article on PuTTY.
