This guide is focused around deployed servers with DirectAdmin's new skin "Evolution"
DirectAdmin has the ability to create additional FTP accounts within your user-level account. This may be required if you ever need to supply additional access to a developer or member of your staff, but don't want to provide over your direct access over SSH or to the DirectAdmin panel. This allows the ability to revoke their FTP access if ever needed.
Creating separate FTP accounts is a good way to control access to your websites, too.
This guide is written with the steps of creating an FTP account within DirectAdmin.
This is meant to help you create FTP accounts as necessary, whenever you want.
We hope this guide helps you with this process.

To create a new FTP Account within DirectAdmin, you'll need to login to your DirectAdmin user through the DirectAdmin Panel – or if you're the Administrator, you can drop in through the
admin user that you want to create an FTP Account under.
Once at the user level, go to "Account Manager" and click "FTP Management".
In the next screen, you'll see that a default FTP Account is already created. DirectAdmin creates a default FTP account for each DirectAdmin user. We'll be documenting the steps for a new additional user.
When you hover over "Create Account" you'll see the number of accounts: in our example we have 1 out of 2 available FTP Accounts.
Click "Create FTP Account" to proceed to the next screen.
In the "Create FTP Account" area it's going to ask you for the following:
You'll have four options to choose from (below,
$USER is the account name):
In our example; we used "Domain":
Once configured; click "Create" – You'll get a successful completion notification that it was a success like this:
You can click the "X" to close the message – DirectAdmin will have redirected you back to your FTP Management page.
Congratulations, you've successfully created an FTP Account. It is now ready for use to upload and/or download whatever files you may require from this account!
We hope you found this guide to be helpful.
