DirectAdmin CSF Management

This guide is focused around deployed servers with DirectAdmin's new skin "Evolution"

DirectAdmin supports ConfigServer Security & Firewall. This is a firewall plugin that is designed to help server administration in the protection of the server from outside sources such as:

  • Bruteforcing
  • Unauthorized Connections
  • Connection Tracking
  • Some types of DDoS

You can manage csf from within DirectAdmin. Login as the admin user and go to Extra Functions → ConfigServer Security & Firewall

You'll be brought to the page that lists all of their functions like so.

You can click csf to get to the firewall specific options for blocking

  • To check if any IP address has been blocked, enter the IP address at the textbox next to "Search for IP" and click on it.

  • To remove IP address from deny file, enter the IP address at the textbox next to "Quick Unblock" and click on it.

  • To allow an IP address, enter the IP address at the textbox next to "Quick Allow" and click on it.

  • To deny an IP address, enter the IP address at the textbox next to "Quick Deny" and click on it.

  • To modify the firewall configuration, click on "Firewall Configuration", make the required changes and click on "Change" to save the configuration. To change the connection tracking limit, look for CT_LIMIT, change the value for limit and save the configuration file.
