This guide is focused around deployed servers with DirectAdmin's new skin "Evolution"
In this guide you will see methods to change the password across all three levels of DirectAdmin. Always remember to use strong passwords for all of your accounts! On our DirectAdmin servers, 1)strong passwords are enforced by default, with passwords requiring uppercase and lowercase characters, numbers, and must be six or more characters long.

To reset the password as the admin
account; you'll want to login to the DirectAdmin server with the user credentials.
Once logged in, you'll want to click the tab arrow
beside the username and click "Password"
This will take you to the password page where you can specify the following:
You will always want to change it for all involved services for the account since this is the admin
account:
Alternatively, you can reset this password via SSH.
Login as the root
via SSH to your VPS, then perform the following command:
passwd admin

To change the password you'll want to change your "Access" level – you do this by utilizing the drop down at the top and changing it from "Admin" to "Reseller".
Once you're set to "Reseller" – you'll want to go to "List Users"

Within this screen, you can see your current users.
You'll want to click "Change a users password" indicated by the red arrow; click it.
You'll want to specify a user – in our example we used khtest
and set a strong password (not that you can see it ).
Click "Save" and the password will be changed; no further prompt is provided.
Test your credentials afterwards to ensure that they are working properly.
To reset the password as a user account, you'll want to login to the DirectAdmin server with the user credentials.
