Spamassassin rules

Is there some place I can download spamasassin rules? Like maybe a strict rule set and a forgiving one?

Just got me thinking...If one does not download any of these rules is there any rules preinstalled in the VPS automatically? (I'm on a plesk VPS but it prob shouldnt matter)

Sure the default ruleset is installed at installation. You can add sa-update to your root crontab for daily scheduled udates too.

Is the default ruleset sufficient in blocking spam or is it a lot better to add the customrulesets?

That'd have to be based on your own opinion. If it works for you...

Personally, spam changes even faster than virii and using an up to date ruleset is going to be the best way to combat it.
