Link value between websites using the same IP address

I understand that linking to other websites that link back to me is good SEO. Is the value of those links affected if the websites are all using the same IP address?

I suggest reading some SEO articles. As far as I know, it's ok to have backlinks from up to ~10 websites residing on the same IP.

Having 1,2 such links is ok I think.
