http file transfers keep failing

Hi,

I have a couple of files on my server in password protected directories that can be downloaded via http.

These files are updated every week and downloaded by like 30 or so people.. filesizes are between 100 to 400MB.

But I get a lot of transfers that just fail.. and IE or Firefox think the transfer was successfull.. It downloaded like between 1-99% of the file..

I even tried an app that will retry the download a few times if it fails, but even it thinks that the transfer was successfull..

I contacted the author and he did some tests with my files and this is what he said:

"The problem is that an empty packet is randomly transferred when it should not. Did you experience the issue in different Windows versions? I experienced it in Vista (Ultimate). If the problem exists in different Windows versions, I'd look on the server side (webserver, firewall, antivirus, etc.)"

And yes, we get this issue with XP and Win2K clients..

I don't have anything unusual on the server.. only thing that was added was APF (Advanced Policy Firewall) & BFD (Brute Force Detection)

I have no idea on where to look or what to do next, but I need to get these http transfer to work properly

Any help is greatly appreciated
