Hit Counter

    Does anyone know how I can add a hit counter to the index.html on a clients website??? Code examples???
    Someone said I could do it through cPanel / scripts, but I could not find it there....

    I've found a freebee like http://www.statcounter.com/ works well. Nothing to configure if you move hosts. It can be text or graphic and it's free.

    It's a simple solution, easy to implement.

    I can't remember the last time I saw a hit counter outside of eBay.

    Creating a simple hit counter in PHP wouldn't be hard. You could simply put the info in a file and retrieve the value on some certain page, or just as a number on the front page somewhere. It may not look good in most Web 2.0 designs, but it isn't impossible.
