CPanel/Fantastico Updates

Hi everyone. I was wondering if there is some sort of schedule or rhyme or reason for how cPanel updates and gets new files (versions of software) for Fantastico to install.

It seems to take several weeks for a new release of software such as WordPress to become available through Fantastico. How is this determined? I can not seem to find this answer anywhere.

Thanks for any thoughts or input.
 
They pretty much update whenever they get around to it. If you like staying current, Fantastico is not for you.
