Centos 7 and WHM 11.50

The release announcement for cPanel version 11.50 says

As part of version 11.50, cPanel & WHM offers support for CentOS 7 on fresh installations

Does this mean that existing KH VPS's will not be updated to Centos 7? Only new accounts?

That's correct. We've never been able to upgrade between major versions of CentOS. CentOS doesn't support it, thus naturally neither does cPanel. We are already working on our base CentOS 7 template and hope to be deploying new systems with it within the next week or two.

Hi Jonathan.
So the only possible upgrade path to Centos 7 would be to migrate to a new system? How painful/difficult would that be? It involves changing IPs at the least....
