Can't connect to vps

So I've just bought the, MANAGED SSD-1 VPS. But I can't seem to log in using remote desktop connection. Does this mean they have to turn it on because I have no clue what's going on since the website says it should be online.
 
Peterpieter - according to our records access information for your new VPS has been emailed to you shortly after your order was received. There is no remote desktop access but you have full root level ssh access there. Any chance that you might be looking for a MS Windows VPS instead of Linux with cPanel?

Oh darn!!! I thought we bought a MS Windows VPS!! Is there anyway we can switch this up since 40 dollars is a lot.
