If you purchased your SSL from KnownHost the CSR can be entered at&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.knownhost.com\/\">my KnownHost panel<\/a><\/strong>. If you purchased your SSL certificate somewhere else you&#8217;ll enter it on the website where you purchased the certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These certificates can be installed via three methods. (Click to Expand)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"block-e74c2f-abd0-43\" class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion block-e74c2f-abd0-43\" data-collapse-others=\"true\"><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item\"><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title\"><span class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title-content\">Installing via Token (Shared\/Reseller)<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title-icon\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-content-wrap\"><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-content\"><p class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-text\">All SSLs purchased through KnownHost come with a token. This token can be used for easy installation <strong>only<\/strong> on our\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/web-hosting\">shared hosting<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/reseller-hosting\"><strong>reseller hosting<\/strong><\/a> packages.<br><br><strong>Finding Your Token<\/strong><br><br>You can get your token in one of two ways:<br><br><strong>My KnownHost (https:\/\/my.knownhost.com)<br><\/strong><br>When you login to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.knownhost.com\/\">my.knownhost.com<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0click on the\u00a0<code>manage<\/code>\u00a0button for the SSL you want to get the token for. Click on\u00a0<code>Certificate Details<\/code>\u00a0on the left and you&#8217;ll be presented with the token.<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cert-comodo-ssl.png\" alt=\"\"><br><br><strong>Email<\/strong><br><strong><br><\/strong>The token is emailed to you when you purchase the SSL certificate. Once at the\u00a0<code>user<\/code>\u00a0level, go to &#8220;Account Manager&#8221; and click &#8220;SSL Certificates&#8221;:<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_csr1.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_csr1.png\"><br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_csr1-alt.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_csr1-alt.png\"><br><br>Once inside the SSL Certificate area, you&#8217;ll see many different choices:<br><br>* Let&#8217;s Encrypt<br><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\">* Paste pre-generated<br><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\">* Certificate Request<br><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\">* Self Signed<br><br>You&#8217;ll want to ensure that you have &#8220;Paste pre-generated&#8217; box checked as outlined in the following screenshot:<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_ssl1.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_ssl1.png\"><br><br>You&#8217;ll see two boxes in this window, the &#8220;Key&#8221; box and the &#8220;Certificate&#8221; Box.<br><br>The &#8220;key&#8221; box is for the\u00a0<code>Private RSA Key<\/code><br><br>The &#8220;certificate&#8221; box is for the actual certificate or\u00a0<code>.crt<\/code>\u00a0file<br><br>Please see this example:<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_ssl2-1.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_ssl2-1.png\"><br><br>Once your certificate is entered, click &#8220;Save&#8221; for it to take effect.<br><br><strong>Setting CA Root Certificate<\/strong><br><strong><br><\/strong>To set the CA Root Certificate, you&#8217;ll want to click &#8220;CA Root Certificate&#8221; within the SSL Certificate area:<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_ssl3.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_ssl3.png\"><br><br>This will take you to the &#8220;CA Root Certificate&#8221; window to apply the certificate.<br><br>You paste it and click &#8220;Save&#8221; \u2013 simple as that!<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/da_ssl2.png\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is da_ssl2.png\"><br><br>Your SSL certificate at this point should be installed properly.<br><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item\"><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title\"><span class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title-content\">Installing the Certificate from cPanel<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-title-icon\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-content-wrap\"><div class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-content\"><p class=\"wp-block-gutenbee-accordion-item-text\">This guide assumes that you have already generated the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and the private key is already stored on the server. If the private key has not been added, you can do so in a below step. In cPanel, click on the icon labeled\u00a0<code>SSL\/TLS<\/code>.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/cpanel-ssl-tls-1024x666.png\" alt=\"\"><br><br>From this screen, click on the link\u00a0<code>Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates<\/code>\u00a0under the &#8220;Certificates (CRT)&#8221; heading.<br><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ssl-wiki-cpanel01.png\" alt=\"\"><br>Saving the SSL Certificate<br><br><strong>Copy &amp; Paste Certificate<br><\/strong><br>You can copy and paste the entire certificate (including the\u00a0<code>\u2014\u2013BEGIN CERTIFICATE\u2014\u2013<\/code>\u00a0and\u00a0<code>\u2014\u2013END CERTIFICATE\u2014\u2013<\/code>\u00a0lines: they are important) into the provided text box. If the certificate was pasted correctly, cPanel will show more information regarding the certificate like so:<br><br><code>Domains: yourSSLdomain.tld Issuer: CoolSSLIssuer Key Size: 2,048 bits (c031337 \u2026) Expiration: Feb 13, 2018 9:30:42 AM<\/code><br><br>You can enter a description with the provided box as well \u2013 entering a date and description can help you keep your certificates organized. Once the certificate has been entered (with an optional description) you can click on\u00a0<code>Save Certificate<\/code>. If it was successful, you will get a message from cPanel saying the certificate has been saved.<br>Upload &#8220;.crt&#8221; Certificate File<br><br>If your certificate was provided in the\u00a0<code>.crt<\/code>\u00a0file format (you may need to extract this file from a\u00a0<code>zip<\/code>\u00a0archive) you can choose the\u00a0<code>Browse\u2026<\/code>\u00a0button to select the file from your computer (or other device) and upload it to the server without having to copy and paste the information directly. Once you have selected the file (and entered an optional description) click on the\u00a0<code>Upload Certificate<\/code>\u00a0\u2013 if the certificate is in the right format, cPanel will automatically save the certificate for you.<br><br><strong>Installing the Certificate<\/strong><br><strong><br><\/strong>From the\u00a0<code>SSL\/TLS<\/code>\u00a0screen in cPanel, click the link\u00a0<code>Manage SSL sites<\/code>\u00a0under the &#8220;Install and Manage SSL for your site (HTTPS)&#8221; heading.<br><br>Scroll down to the\u00a0<code>Install an SSL Website<\/code>\u00a0heading, and click the drop-down box under the section called\u00a0<code>Domain<\/code>\u00a0(with the text &#8220;Select a Domain&#8221;) and choose the domain that you wish to install an SSL certificate for.<br><br>If you installed the certificate according to the steps above (and the private key is already on the server after generating a CSR) you can click on the\u00a0<code>Browse Certificates<\/code>\u00a0button and select the certificate you just entered and click on\u00a0<code>Use Certificate<\/code>\u00a0\u2013 this will fill in the appropriate information for you. If you only have one domain or a single certificate uploaded, you can click on\u00a0<code>Autofill by Domain<\/code>\u00a0and cPanel will automatically select the appropriate certificate, private key, and certificate authority bundle (CA bundle).<br>If you did not previously upload the private key to the server, you can copy and paste it into the private key field now.<br><br>Verify that the information is correct \u2013 especially the\u00a0<code>Domains(s)<\/code>\u00a0and\u00a0<code>Expiration Date<\/code>\u00a0fields and click on the\u00a0<code>Install Certificate<\/code>\u00a0button below.<br><br>If the SSL certificate was installed correctly, cPanel will give you a confirmation message. Now that you are more familiar with how cPanel&#8217;s SSL Manager interface works, you can save some time when installing your next certificate by using the\u00a0<code>Manage SSL sites<\/code>\u00a0link directly.<br><br><strong>Installing from WebHostManager \/ WHM<br><\/strong><br>SSL certificates can also be installed as the from within WHM as well, though the interface can be somewhat less intuitive than installing via a cPanel account (but it is faster if you already have the certificate, private key, and CA bundle extracted and ready for installation \u2013 or if you&#8217;re just more comfortable with WHM.)<br><br>After a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/how-to-generate-csr-from-whm\/\">Certificate Signing Request (CSR)<\/a>\u00a0has been generated and you have received the certificate, you would navigate to\u00a0<code>WHM Home \u2192 SSL\/TLS \u2192 Install an SSL Certificate on a Domain<\/code>\u00a0(you can type in\u00a0<code>ssl<\/code>\u00a0on WHM&#8217;s search bar for easy access):<br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knownhost.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/ssl-wiki-whm01.png\" alt=\"\"><br><br><br>From here, you would type in the domain in the\u00a0<code>Domain<\/code>\u00a0field and copy and paste the certificate, private key and your CA bundle into their respective fields \u2013 you should leave the\u00a0<code>IP Address<\/code>\u00a0field blank (for auto-discover).
