    Vanity Nameservers

Thanks, Dan! I think I first heard of them here on this forum when I first signed up and was looking at other options. It may have been one of your posts, so thanks for that.

    Vanity Nameservers

At the risk of looking like I'm talking to myself, I'll comment on my solution I implemented this week. I upgraded my VPS after disk space and some brute force attacks on some of my client's sites. After the upgrade I started looking at DNS service options. BuddyNS.com was my choice, as I can...

    Vanity Nameservers

I'm currently hosting a few sites for my web design customers and using vanity nameservers set up on small VPS running cPanel's DNSOnly (four nameservers located in four different areas). I'm considering switching to using EasyDNS, BuddyNS or a similar service rather than managing my own. Not...

ConfigServer Exploit scanner - anybody using it?

Sheesh ... I found clamav wasn't actually running in WHM. CXS found it and is running a scan now. Off to add chkrootkit and rkhunter now!

ConfigServer Exploit scanner - anybody using it?

Thanks - there is definitely something wrong with my install of CXS. It can't find clamd at all, and I have uninstalled ClamAV via WHM, then reinstalled it. I'll contact them and then look for alternatives; I really don't want to move away from the KH default set up.

    CXS ClamAV Not Found

Very strange; it's not found by CXS, even when I put the path as /var/clamd as suggested by The German who is also running CXS, Removing all lines from their cxs.defaults config file results in the same error message, "ClamAV socket not found". I think I'll need to look for alternatives to CXS...

ConfigServer Exploit scanner - anybody using it?

I know this thread is bordering on "old" but I just moved to KH; I've been running CXS for three years and I do like it. I want to keep my managed VPS as close to stock as possible, and I remember installing CXS on my old server required disabling the WHM installation of ClamAV and installing...

    CXS ClamAV Not Found

I'm moving my ConfigServer eXploit Scanner software to my new VPS2 here and it is not able to find ClamAV (even though it is installed on the account. I think their answer, judging from their forums, is to install your own version of ClamAV and disable the cPanel version. I'm wondering if...

Can someone tell me how to search

I go to google.com, enter "site:https://www.knownhost.com/forums/" a space and the search query. I get much better search results from Google than any forum's built in search.
