Research indicates that website downtime costs Enterprise companies an average of over $163,000 per year, with small businesses incurring $8,580 of cost per hour of downtime.<\/p>\n<p>How do you know if the site is down for everyone or just for you?<\/p>\n<h2>What should you do if you think your site is down?<\/h2>\n<p>There are several reasonably common factors that could make a specific website or page unavailable to a certain user, despite it functioning perfectly for others. Even when connected to the internet, the website may be inaccessible to a user if it is blocked by a firewall, if the browser or computer contains cached information which is preventing the page from loading, or because of a problem with the router.<\/p>\n<p>To determine whether a failure to connect to a website occurred on your end, you should first attempt to visit other websites. If the website does not work on a certain computer, but does on another or on a mobile device, that likely indicates that it is being blocked by a firewall or other security program.<\/p>\n<p>A website which is live, but cannot be loaded by any device on the network may be blocked by the internet service provider (ISP), or more likely the router.
